Melissa Chusid

Melissa Chusid is an award-winning casting director and talent executive with over 20 years of experience discovering, booking, and elevating A-list talent across television, film, digital media, sports, and branded content. Recognized for her strong industry relationships and ability to identify star power, Melissa has contributed to many of the most culturally significant projects of the past two decades.
 

Her credits include hit and award-winning series such as Lip Sync Battle (Spike TV), Cold As Balls with Kevin Hart (LOL Network), Groundbreakers with Billie Jean King (PBS), Gutsy with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton (Apple TV+), and The Eli Manning Show, which received a New York Emmy Award for its work with the New York Giants. She also cast feature films including August Rush and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, working with talent such as Robert Downey Jr., Robin Williams, Channing Tatum, Chazz Palminteri, and Shia LaBeouf. On Broadway, Melissa partnered with Michael Moore on The Terms of My Surrender, booking a rotating lineup of A-list celebrity guests.


Most recently, Melissa served as Talent Producer on Hello Sunshine’s The Rise, a groundbreaking documentary series for Peacock chronicling the explosive growth of women’s professional sports. The series includes WNBA 2024: The Year That Changed Everything and The New Moneyball, spotlighting the athletes, executives, and cultural leaders shaping the future of women’s sports.

Melissa leads Hope Productions, where she consults for major media companies, platforms, and brands on talent strategy, celebrity and influencer casting, and content development. She is a trusted advisor to clients aiming to create impactful projects by pairing standout personalities with compelling storytelling.
 

Previously, she was Director of Talent and Development for MSG Media, supporting the Madison Square Garden Network’s transition from sports to sports-and-entertainment programming. At College Sports Television (CSTV), a CBS-owned network, she led talent initiatives across college sports. Her experience also includes serving as an owner liaison for the NFL during Super Bowl XLVII and casting for Bleacher Report’s B/Real, a campaign connecting top athletes with inspirational human-interest stories.
 

Melissa began her career at Nickelodeon, spending nearly a decade casting and managing talent for series such as Blue’s Clues, Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, and The Backyardigans. She played a key role in the nationwide search for a new Blue’s Clues host, demonstrating her ability to combine audience insight with strong casting decisions.
 

A lifelong New Yorker, Melissa holds a degree in Political Science and Government from Skidmore College. As media evolves, she remains committed to discovering emerging voices, developing talent-driven formats, and shaping stories that define culture.
